An incendiary bomb dropped on to a school playground in northern Syria earlier this week killed 10 children and left scores of others with napalm-like burns over their bodies.
Eyewitnesses described a fighter jet dropping the device, followed by a low explosion and columns of fire and smoke, the BBC reported.
A BBC correspondent who was in the area filming a documentary said the scene outside the local hospital was of complete chaos and devastation.
Casualties were continually arriving, and a lack of beds meant patients were being treated on the floor.
Those tending them could barely cope, amid the smell of burning flesh, the correspondent said.
