Colorado flood toll rises

The death toll from flooding in Colorado has risen to four and evacuation orders have been issued in the the city of Boulder and outlying areas.

The ABC reports the body of an unidentified woman was found after she was swept away from her submerged vehicle on Thursday.

All Boulder County offices were closed on Friday as rainfall was expected to continue overnight.

Sheriff Joe Pelle said many as 170 people remain unaccounted for.

The flooding began overnight on Wednesday, triggered by heavy late-summer storms. The National Weather Service warned there could be more flash flooding later on Saturday and on Sunday.

On Friday, Governor John Hickenlooper declared a disaster emergency in 14 counties.

In New Mexico, Governor Susana Martinez also declared a state of disaster on Friday after flooding in Eddy, Sierra and San Miguel counties.
