Law school test to be held again because of toilet break

3:32 pm on 24 September 2013

An entry exam for one of the top legal schools in France is to be rerun because some candidates were allowed to go to the toilet during the test, which lasted five hours.

Toulouse University law school confirmed on Monday that one of the examinations for prospective entrants will have to be taken again by every candidate because a supervisor allowed some students to take a bathroom break, after a female student fled the exam room in tears.

The university has deemed that the supervisor "exceeded his authority" and may have handed the students allowed to visit the bathroom an unfair advantage in light of the contemporary prevalence of cheating by smartphone, AFP reports.

The exam will be held again on 5 October.
