A tropical cyclone is forecast for the northern coast of Western Australia on Saturday. Winds of up to 100km/h are forecast for the Kimberley.
The Weather Bureau has issued a cyclone warning for coastal areas from Kuri Bay to Broome with a tropical low to the north of Broome expected deepen into a cyclone.
AAP reports the system is expected to intensify over the weekend as it tracks southwest towards the Pilbara coast on Monday.
