Police in China's restive western region of Xinjiang say they have shot dead eight people during an attack on a police station.
The violence comes two weeks after a riot in the region in which 14 people were shot dead by police.
It is the latest in a number of violent incidents in Xinjiang this year which Beijing blames on separatism, the BBC reports.
