Three police officers were seriously injured in an explosion at a Melbourne flat that injured six people.
Police were called to the flat at about 9.15pm (AEDT) on Saturday after reports of a man threatening to harm himself.
AAP reports there was a large explosion as firefighters and police entered the second-floor flat.
Three police officers were seriously injured and were taken to The Alfred Hospital.
Two female officers are in a critical but stable condition. One has burns to 90% of her body.
A male officer is in a serious but stable condition.
The ABC reports the man, who was inside the unit at the time of the blast, also needed treatment for burns and is now under guard in hospital.
