The bodies of a Queensland woman and her daughter who died mysteriously in Bali last weekend were brought back Brisbane on Saturday morning.
Noelene Bischoff, 54, a Sunshine Coast nurse, and her daughter Yvana, 14, became unwell less than 24 hours after arriving at a resort on the east coast of the island last Friday.
AAP reports Ms Bischoff died on 4 January while being taken by ambulance to a hospital in Denpasar. Her daughter died several hours later at the clinic without knowing her mother was dead.
Police have suggested their deaths were caused by an allergic reaction. However, AAP reports that relatives think it is likely they had food poisoning, perhaps from fish they ate for dinner.
About 30 types of medicines were found in their hotel room by Indonesian police.
A spokesman for Virgin told AAP the bodies were flown into Brisbane just after 5am (AEST) on Saturday and taken to the John Tonge centre in Coopers Plains for autopsies.
