One survivor found after plane crash

An Algerian military plane with 103 people on board, crashed in a mountainous area in the northeast of the country on Tuesday. A sole survivor has been found.

''We have found a survivor and the search continues," Colonel Farid Nechad told public radio.

There was no immediate word on the condition of the survivor. Public radio reported emergency services had recovered 77 bodies from the crash site,

The plane was flying from Tamanrasset, desert garrison town to the city of Constantine, 320km east of the capital, and lost contact with the control tower as it was beginning its descent.
