The incident happened on Tuesday during renovation of a residential building in the Mid-Levels neighbourhood.

Construction-related accidents are relatively uncommon in Hong Kong, but there have been eight fatal accidents so far this year.

Labour Minister Matthew Cheung said the number of deaths related to construction this year is of "high concern".
