A nephew of Fiji's military leader Frank Bainimarama has been charged with attempted homicide after shooting at police in a small American town.
Police in Union in Pennsylvania said Sevanaia Bainimarama fired several shots at officers during a car chase that lasted 19 minutes.
Liz Zemba, a reporter for the Tribune-Review newspaper said officers pursued Mr Baimimarama's SUV, after it ran two stop signs.
She said he was eventually stopped in a dead-end street, where he was shot and wounded by the officers, who hit both his arms.
The reporter said Mr Bainimarama has been charged over the incident and is now in custody.
