A gun battle erupted close to Pakistan's busiest airport in the city of Karachi on Tuesday, a day after Taliban militants stormed one of its terminals.

The second attack on Tuesday ended without casualties, but the two gunmen escaped. A senior official said two people came towards a Airport Security Force checkpost and started firing.
An army spokesperson also confirmed the incident was over, but said three to four assailants were involved.
The Taliban gun and bomb attack on the airport's cargo terminal left at least 38 dead, including the 10 attackers.
Rescue workers have recovered the charred bodies of seven people trapped inside a cargo building at Karachi airport when Taliban militants stormed the facility overnight on Sunday.
The Taliban said they carried out the raid as revenge for the killing of their leader last year.
Pakistan's Air Force launched air strikes in tribal areas near the Afghan border on Tuesday. The defence force said at least 15 militants died and nine terrorist hideouts were destroyed in the early morning strikes.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the attackers should be "pursued and eliminated".
