There were 11 other people reported injured after the man's apparently random firing into the crowd about 3am local time (1pm NZ time).

The man, 27, had reportedly argued with a woman in a car park.

He went to his car to get the gun and shot at the crowd of about 150 people at the concert hosted by a motorcycle club.

The man then returned to the car park and killed himself.

State broadcaster ORF said the weapon appeared to be a rifle.

Some of those injured were said to be in a serious condition.
