President-elect Barack Obama headed for the gym on Wednesday morning after his historic election win.
After returning home at nearly 2am after a celebration in Grant Park, he had breakfast with his wife and daughters before going to the gym around mid-morning in Chicago.
The first-term senator from Illinois often went there during the 21-month presidential campaign. On Wednesday, he stayed inside for about an hour.
A crowd of a few dozen people across the street cheered as Senator Obama got into his car and headed off in his motorcade to an office for some meetings and conference calls.
Senator Obama will be sworn in as the 44th president of the United States on 20 January.
