Actress Joanna Lumley has been honoured with the 2010 Oldie Of The Year award for her Gurkha campaign.
Sir Terry Wogan presented the Absolutely Fabulous star with her prize during a ceremony at Simpson's-in-the-Strand in London.
The annual awards ceremony is run by the monthly magazine The Oldie.
Lumley, 64, led a successful high-profile battle to win residential rights for Gurkhas who fought in the British Army.
After the actress led a series of marches and speeches, the Government changed the immigration rules last May to allow all Gurkhas who retired before 1997 with at least four years service to settle in Britain.
Previous recipients of the Oldie Of The Year prize include Sir David Attenborough, Tony Blackburn and Dame Thora Hird.
Author PD James was named Handbagger Of The Year for a heavily critical interview with BBC director general Mark Thompson on Radio 4's Today programme.
