The Champs-Elysees avenue in Paris is an oasis of plants, trees and flowers this weekend.
It was devised by the Jeunes Agriculteurs (Young Farmers) union who want to highlight their financial problems, caused by falling prices for agricultural produce.
The BBC reports 8000 plots of earth were brought in. Some 150,000 plants have been installed - including 650 fully grown trees.
The event cost 4.2 million euros to stage.
The union represents 55,000 farmers under the age of 35.
