Seve Ballesteros plans to return to golf next year as captain of Europe's Royal Trophy team.

His nephew, Ivan Ballesteros, said on Wednesday that he is making solid progress in his recovery and has set himself a goals of being the European captain at the Royal Trophy event next year.
Ballesteros led Europe to victory over Asia in the first two Royal Trophy matchplay events in 2006 and 2007.
He won the British Open in 1979, 1984 and 1988 and the US Masters in 1980 and 1983.
