Manchester United footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has been named FIFA World Player of the Year.
Ronaldo, 23, of Portugal, won the award for the first time after helping United win the Premier League, Champions League and Club World Cup.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi of Argentine, was second and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres of Spain, third.
Ronaldo previously won the football journalists' Ballon d'Or trophy and the FIFPro World Player of the Year title voted by his fellow professionals.
