Police raiding a marijuana farm in western Canada were astonished to it teeming with bears.
At least 10 animals roaming around the property in British Colombia had been lured there and fed by the owners to keep unwelcome visitors away, the BBC reports.
However, the officers' initial alarm wore off when they realised the black bears did not behave aggressively and were quite docile.
"They were tame, they just sat around watching. At one point one of the bears climbed onto the hood of a police car, sat there for a bit and then jumped off," said Royal Canadian Mounted Police sergeant Fred Mansveld.
Two people have been arrested in the raid.
Feeding bears is illegal in Canada, as it leads to the animals associating food with humans and increases the likelihood of them coming into towns and cities to look for food.
Officers say the bears may have to be put down if they have become accustomed to living around humans. Conservation officers are deciding their fate.
