President Hamid Karzai of Afghanistan has criticised US plans to begin withdrawing troops from his country in July next year.
Mr Karzai said announcing a date for the withdrawal has given the Taliban insurgency a morale boost.
He also said the war cannot be won as long as the Taliban are able to take refuge in neighbouring Pakistan.
