Romania in talks with IMF

Romania is in talks with the International Monetary Fund to secure financial aid.

Bucharest is yet to admit to having approached the agency, although a Romanian delegation is reportedly in Washington for discussions.

After a meeting with his Romanian counterpart Cristian Diaconescu in Berlin, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Tuesday that Romania is holding talks with the IMF over additional loans.

The IMF led a rescue plan for Hungary and Latvia last year.
