Bombs disarmed in Northern Ireland

Police in Northern Ireland have disarmed two bombs, one near Belfast airport.

Airport staff raised the alert after spotting a suspicious vehicle in a car park at 2.30pm (BST) on Saturday.

Suspected flammable liquid was found along with a device, which was made safe by explosives officers.

The alert ended at 2am (BST) on Sunday. Flights were not affected.

Earlier, a 40kg bomb was found on Friday in Lurgan, County Armagh.

Assistant Chief Constable Duncan McCausland said both devices "had the potential to cause injury and damage".
