The Australian navy may have found some containers of ammonium nitrate that were lost from a cargo ship off the coast of Queensland.
HMAS Yarra has found 23 objects believed to be containers lost by the cargo ship Pacific Adventurer in a cyclone last week.
Thirty one containers were swept from the ship in heavy weather, damaging the side of the vessel and causing a spillage of fuel oil that affected 60km of coastline on Moreton and Bribie islands, and the Sunshine Coast.
The defence force says the objects were located at a depth of 120 metres, east of Cape Moreton.
HMAS Norman will join the search on Friday afternoon.
