A provincial governor has been wounded in Afghanistan.

Kunduz governor Mohammad Omar was returning from the neighbouring Takhar province when a remote-controlled bomb struck the vehicle on Saturday.

His driver was also wounded. The incident was blamed on the Taliban.

In another incident, four civilians, including a child and a woman, were killed by a roadside bomb in the southern province of Kandahar.
