Another protest after Indian students attacked

1:20 pm on 9 June 2009

Indian students in Sydney say they won't stop protesting against racial violence until they feel safe in Australia.

About 500 men formed a spontaneous protest in a Western Sydney park on Monday night after two young Indian students were harassed at 9pm.

The offenders were described as Middle Eastern in appearance.

However, the ABC reports the protestors were confronted by 30 police officers and dogs.

The protesters say the attacks are becoming more frequent and police are not doing enough to stop them.

Previous incidents have resulted in big street protests in Sydney in Melbourne.
