10:02 am on 16 July 2009

Al-Qaeda is threatening to revenge the deaths of 46 Muslim Uighurs in riots in the north western China last week.

It's reported al-Qaeda is promising to attack some of the 50,000 Chinese workers in Algeria and Northern Africa in the coming days and weeks.

China already moved to reassure the Islamic world it is not oppressing its Muslim minority.
