Four earthquakes have occurred near the coast of Mexico in Baja California. The strongest registered magnitude 6.9. There were no immediate reports of damage.
Thefirst was magnitude 5.8 at 10.55am (local time) on Monday, followed by one registering a magnitude 6.9 five minutes later.
The US Geological Survey says another, magnitude 5.0, occurred about 30 minutes later and a fourth, magnitude 5.9, followed shortly afterwards.
USGS said the epicentre of the strongest quake was located 120km north-northeast of Santa Isabel in Baja California, Mexico, at a depth of 10km.
