Wreckage from a plane that went missing over Indonesia's rugged Papua region with 16 people on board has been found in dense jungle.
Search and rescue teams were trying to land in the area by helicopter on Tuesday but there is little hope any passengers or crew, all Indonesians, will be found alive.
A Merpati Nusantara Airlines executive says the plane crashed into a mountain range on Sunday as it flew from Jayapura to Oksibil.
He say the tail of the plane was spotted early on Tuesday by an airborne search team.
