Pakistani militant dies from injuries

Pakistani authorities say a leading Taliban commander injured in a military operation last week, has died from his injuries.

In a statement, military officials say Sher Mohammad Qasab died from bullet wounds sustained during the operation to capture him.

Qasab was listed by Pakistan as one of the most senior Taliban commanders in the Swat Valley.

His capture on Wednesday followed that of two other senior commanders from the valley, the area military have been trying to purge of Taliban leaders.
