No checks on postage in mail dispute

6:13 am on 16 December 2009

An industrial dispute in Australia means postal workers are beginning two days of stoppages which could mean people are able to mail letters and parcels for free.

Union members will not check the postage on items to determine whether it's correct.

Australia Post says that could cause delays in Christmas deliveries, but the union says it has chosen this type of industrial action because it will not disrupt services.
