An Israeli nuclear whistleblower has been arrested for violating a ban preventing him from speaking to foreigners.
Mordechai Vanunu, a former technician, spent 18 years in prison for leaking information about Israel's nuclear programme to a British newspaper in 1986.
He was tried for treason after Israeli intelligence agents kidnapped him in Rome.
A ban on contact with foreigners was imposed as a condition of his release in 2004. He is being held under house arrest.
The BBC reports Mr Vanunu, a Jewish convert to Christianity, was previously sentenced in 2007 to six months in prison for breaking the conditions of his parole.
