A personal cheque written by US President Abraham Lincoln the day before he was assassinated has been found by a bank in Ohio.
The Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland says 70 cheques were found in a vault at Huntington Bank's headquarters in Columbus.
They included cheques signed by George Washington, Mark Twain, Charles Dickens and Thomas Edison.
The Lincoln cheque was made out to "self" for $US800 and dated 13 April, 1865.
