Slovaks are in favour of naming a new border bridge near the capital, Bratislava, after 1980s TV star Chuck Norris. The actor's work is popular there.
The bridge for pedestrians and cyclists will span the Morava river and cross the border to Austria.
Another popular name in an internet poll is Maria Theresa, an Austro-Hungarian empress.
The final decision will be up to a regional assembly. Regional Governor Pavol Freso has said it would follow the wishes of the people.
Voting continues until April. As of Thursday, Norris had 74% of the total
votes cast.
