Pop superstar Prince passed away in April and fans were upset that none of his music was available on streaming services like Apple Music and Spotify. But his films were equally difficult to find. In conversation with Jesse Mulligan for Afternoons, Dan says that the concert film Sign o’ the Times is Prince’s finest venture on to the silver screen but Purple Rain, Under the Cherry Moon and Graffiti Bridge are less successful (in that order).
