Three simple summer drinks from Celia Hay

Special Summer Fruit Cup

Hull some strawberries.

Chop up some cherries.

Put them in glasses.

Dust a bit of icing sugar over the top and mix it up- let them sit for a bit, add a squeeze of lemon juice.

Add a bit of ice.

Pour in some apple juice.

Drink like this or if you want to you can add vodka.

Frozé

Get a bottle of rosé.

Pour half into a bowl and half into an ice cube tray.

Put in the freezer for 3-4 hours. (It's not going to freeze completely because of the alcohol but it'll mostly freeze.)

Take out of the freezer.

Get a fork and mash up the ice in the bowl.

Spoon into wine glasses.

Top with the frozen ice cubes of rosé, then add a little bit of extra wine if you need.

Garnish with a strawberry.

(Drink it quickly as it'll melt pretty fast in the heat.)

Negroni

Take two glasses. Fill one with ice.

Add:

  • 1 part (oz) Campari
  • 1 part (oz) Gin
  • 1 part (oz) Martini Rosso

Stir.

Add more ice (to dilute the booze).

Strain through a sieve. (Celia uses a fancy bartending one but you don't have to.)

Cut a slice of orange, squeeze it in, then drop it in as a garnish.
