The Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Bureau in American Samao is investigating the disappearnace of a man over the weekend at Laulii.
The 37 year old apparently had an argument with his wife's family and left with spear fishing gear on two days ago.
When he hadn't returned the next day, his family notified police.
The man's fishing gear was found near Breakers Point in Aua.
A land and sea search was called off after there was no sight of the man, but investigations are continuing.
