Samoa telco row goes public

3:02 pm on 12 April 2004

A row over the running of Samoa's telecommuncations company has prompted the information technology minister, Palusale Fa'apo, to call on the chairman of SamoaTel, Murray Drake, to consider his resignation.

This comes amid an apparent power struggle within the company between the CEO and the chief financial officer.

Concerns and allegations about the affairs at SamoaTel have already prompted the minister to call in the controller and chief auditor to look into the company.

But the action has been criticised by the company chairman, Murray Drake, who called it nonsensical.
