Samoa's Polynesian Air tries to catch up on flights after bad weather

Polynesian Airlines is trying to catch up on flights after bad weekend weather forced the cancellation of flights on the inter Samoa route.

Passengers were stranded as gusty winds of up to 46 knots and heavy rain and thunderstorms saw flights aborted.

The local manager for Polynesian Airlines, Vaitoa Hans Langkilde, says they were able to operate four flights yesterday, after the weather improved.

However, he says passengers are still waiting for seats back to Pago Pago due to the backlog.

Polynesian Air is trying to slot in more flights throughout today, in order to accommodate stranded passengers.
