The award winning company, Fiji Water Limited, has been sold to Roll International Corporation of the United States.
No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.
But Fiji Water founder, David Gilmour, says the company will continue to function as an independent operation under its present management.
Fiji Water recently won the prestigious United States Secretary of State's 2004 Award for Corporate Excellence.
Since its start in 1998, Fiji water had grown rapidly and holds the second biggest market share for mineral water in the United States.
