The interim president of French Polynesia's territorial assembly, Hiro Tefaarere, says he expects to meet all parliamentary group leaders today to discuss details about the no-confidence motion in the Gaston Flosse-led government.
The motion was lodged after Mr Flosse ignored calls to resign after the setback he suffered in the Tahiti by-election.
If the motion by the Union For Democracy is approved, the territory is set to get its fourth government in less than a year.
Mr Tefaarere says the process is clear unless the French president intervenes.
"Mr Flosse is a special guy. He can ask his brother Chirac to dissolve this Assembly. He can do that."
