Striking civil servants in Tonga who were hoping to meet with the United States Ambassador today will have to wait because he is travelling to Nauru.
Civil Servants in Tonga now in week six of a pay rise strike had expected to talk to the Ambassador today.
The American Embassy in Suva says Larry Dinger has plans to visit Tonga but a schedule has not been prepared.
Also visiting is Commonwealth Secretary General Don McKinnon but his secretary in London says the visit was planned in July and is part of a round of pre Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings.
Mr McKinnon has met with the Princess Regent as the King is unwell and is not going to comment on the civil servant pay dispute.
