Body of former PNG Prime Minister flown home from Brisbane

The body of former Papua New Guinean prime minister Sir William Skate has been flown back to Port Moresby.

The former PM suffered a stroke in Port Moresby last week and was flown to the Wesley Hospital in Brisbane, where he died on Tuesday aged 52.

Sir William was prime minister from 1997 until 1999.

A state funeral is expected to be held for him on Thursday.
