Samoa's associate minister for police, Manuleleua Lalagofa'atasi, has died.
His death was sudden and came just as the minister was preparing to attend parliamentary proceedings.
Manuleleua in a brief speech in parliament earlier this week had called for compulsory education for the whole country, specifically in music, science and mathematics.
The 82 year old had held the seat for Faleata West.
No funeral details have yet been finalized.
