Despite differences in Samoa amongst heirs of the Malietoa paramount title the bestowal ceremony will go ahead today.
The bestowal of the paramount title to Fa'amausili Moli, the son of the late Head of State, Malietoa Tanumafili II, is to be held in the village of Malie.
A representative of the family, Papali'i Malama, said the occasion will go ahead despite objections and interim injunctions by several claimants to the title from the heirs of Malietoa Natuitasina and Malietoa Talavou.
Papali'i says representatives of the two heirs living in the village of Sapapali'i in Savaii Island have supported the new successor of the title and their support was given during a face to face meeting last week-end.
But several members of the Vainu'upo clan Fa'amausili Moli belongs to have also applied for an interim injunction.
The nephew and son of Papali'i Molio'o Malietoa, the late eldest brother of the new successor to the title has also applied for an interim injunction.
Malietau Malietoa has filed his objection in the Lands and Titles court through a letter to the registrar of the court.
