New Zealanders led the figures for visitor arrivals in Samoa in the month of May
According to statistics from the Central Bank of Samoa, Kiwis made up 41% of visitor arrivals for the month, followed by American Samoans -20% and Australians 17%.
Total visitor figures increased 2% to 9,166 which was 6% higher than the number of tourists who visited Samoa in the same period last year.
Tourism earnings rose 8% to almost 9 million dollars in May.
The Central Bank says a surge in visitors attending business and conferences was due to church conferences of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa and the Methodist Church.
