A parliamentary report in Solomon Islands reveals up to 80 percent of successful citizenship applicants are from China.

According to the Public Accounts Committee Report, in 65 percent of the cases citizenship was granted although the applicants do not meet residency requirements.

The Solomon Star reports that the committee also found failures in the passport management, and it points to inadequate action over illegal immigrants and deportees.
