Pacific Island bowlers have mixed fortunes at World Bowls

Australia and Malaysia head section one of the mens singles after five of 11 rounds at the World Bowls Championships in Christchurch.

Papaua New Guinea and Norfolk island are in the bottom half of the points table.

In section two, Fiji's Ratish Lal shares second place with bowlers from South Africa and Scotland.

In section one of the mens fours England leads on nine points with Fiji second.

In section two of the fours Australia and New Zealand are one and two with Papua New Guinea, Norfolk Island and the Cook Islands well down in the second half of the table.

Australia, New Zealand and England head section one of the women's pairs on 10 points each while Fiji and Samoa have two.
