Guam gets US$6m grant from US

The US Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne has allocated six million US dollars in federal grants for the government of Guam.

According to Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo's Office, five million will go to the Guam Memorial Hospital, half a million to the Department of Public Health and Social Services, and 443,000 dollars will go to the Guam Community College.

Congresswoman Bordallo said Mr Kempthorne's move demonstrates his commitment to keep his promise in assisting Guam.

She also commended Mr Kempthorne for his leadership of the Interagency Group on Insular Areas.
