Appeal for calm in CNMI after swine flu rumours

3:00 pm on 27 July 2009

The acting director for Public Health in the CNMI is urging the public to remain calm amidst rumours of another confirmed case of H1N1.

Warren Villagomez, who is a BioTerrorism planner of the Department of Public Health, says there are so far only two confirmed cases of swine flu.

The Emergency Operations Center says it has not received any new case of swine flu.

Warren Villagomez says another batch of regular test flu results from satellite clinics will be sent next week to a laboratory testing facility in San Antonio, Texas.

He says the other cases are being monitored, but have been released from hospital and have fully recovered.

The Department of Public Health is still warning that more cases of H1N1 are likely in the CNMI.
