Number of swine flu cases in American Samoa jumps to 29

American Samoa has 21 new confirm cases of swine flu, bringing the total to 29.

The medical director of the local Department of Health says Dr. Ivan Tuliau, 34 specimens were to the Hawai'i state laboratory for testing and 21 returned positive.

Health officials are continuing their efforts to prevent further spread of the virus within the territory through public awareness campaigns.

Tuliau said local officials are keeping in constant contact with health authorities in neighboring Samoa, where health officials have decided to close schools in Samoa for another week.
