Fiji interim Government sacks its reformer from Sugar Ministry

More changes in Fiji's troubled sugar industry with the interim Government removing the recently appointed Parmesh Chand as permanent secretary at the sugar ministry, which is headed by the Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

But Mr Chand will continue with his role as the chief executive of the public service.

The Fiji government's website states it wants to strengthen and speed up its planned t reforms in the industry.

Public Service Commission chairman Joseva Serulagilagi told FijiLive the regime wants Mr Chand to concentrate solely on reform of the public service.
